ibis Cambridge Central Station ★★★

Right next to the station, but still quiet. Basic but clean.

Friendly staff. Clean and warm room. Late check out.

Basic business type hotel but very clean and the staff were very nice. Next to the railway station but a bit of a walk from the town centre. Loads of places to eat nearby.

The shower was a bit weak but it did the job.

Room was clean, tidy and comfortable. I don't really have any issues with the comfort level. Room was also bigger than I thought. There is no check-in counter at the hotel, I was greeted by staff once I entered into the hotel and they very nicely, helpful and quickly checked me in. Location was great, just right next to the station, impossible to miss. Also very convenient spot as there are a few cafes and a supermarket just next to it.

As there is no front desk, I find it a bit difficult to ask for help. Staff at the ground level are helpful, but there was no phone in the room which I could use to call the service desk or I would have to use my own phone to whatsapp them. I was a bit surprised that there was no safe deposit box in the room, although Cambridge is a safe place, I would generally expect one in a hotel like Ibis. Facilities seemed to be a bit lacking.

Great location - although check in was busy, it was efficient. The room had everything we needed. Staff were helpful. The breakfast was absolutely delicious - Will definitely return!

The towels were flimsy, small, and stained!

The bed was extremely comfortable and whole place was really well designed with a funky vibe. The staff were very friendly and smiley. The breakfast was great - everything fresh and lots of choice.

It was a little further from the centre than we had imagined but it wouldn't put me off staying there again.

The toilet door made a lot of noise to open and the shower leeks towards the bathroom floor

The hotel is brand new with great decor and cleanliness! The rooms are perfect, they have everything you need in there, including TV. The breakfast has a wide selection, with unlimited coffee!!

No reception but there are students lurking around that check you in. We first had to ask at the food counter whether someone could help us and then had to wait a very long time before someone did. We arrived on a Friday evening around 7 PM and there was just one boy/man but he took forever helping a family of four. We honestly thought that he was going to get into to elevator with them - that’s how excited he was to be able to speak Spanish. I don’t think he noticed that we were standing there for 30 mins bursting for the loo after a very long drive (and we were told at food counter that we could only use to loos after we had checked in). On the Saturday there were about 4 girls/women hanging around waiting to check people in so I guess it’s better not to arrive on a Friday evening.....

Central location - close to city center, railway station and parking next door. Great breakfast. Rent your bikes next door at Rutlands.

Double bed sagging in the middle

The greeting from the check-in staff was excellent. The hotel is next to the station, with car parking in the station car park. Parking cost is reasonable, £20.50 for 3 days over a weekend. All staff are friendly, and the rooms are more than adequate. The breakfast is very good with plenty to choose from, and the buffet is kept freshly stocked by staff all the time. The pizzas served in the ground floor cafe are excellent. The hotel is a great base to explore Cambridge, as the bus stops are close by. If I return to Cambridge, I would defiantly use this hotel again. Highly recommended for the money.

Nothing!!

Check in was different. No identifiable reception but we were approached immediately by a friendly and enthusiastic member of staff who checked us in took payment and gave us keys all within a couple of minutes.

Clearly a new property and everything was in very good order , Cafe was good and open late , fittings in the cafe and seating area were excellent . Good to have security late at night .

The mechanism for closing the door into the bathroom means you can’t shut or open the door quietly at night . What’s wrong with a door handle ?
